This
is sharply reflected in the diversity of wildlife a living
study of nature by
the Highland frontier. Magnificent golden eagle, peregrine
falcon and monarch of the glens the proudly antlered red
deer stag, coexist with much gentler creatures roe deer,
shy wildcat and cunning fox, to name but a few. In
summer the air ignites with the dashing flight of countless
migrants from Africa.
|
| Meanwhile
the landscape itself is an ever changing colour patchwork,
from snow capped mountains
tops to spring primroses and bluebells; on through the dark
greens of summer woods to the heather and ling, exploding
to colour hillsides purple before autumn brings a profusion
of golds, reds, russets, and browns. Nature's infinite
variety constantly brings new dimensions, new pleasures to
the precious Trossachs environment. |
Against
this magnificent backdrop are activities for every taste. Cycling,
nature walks, pony trekking, birdwatching, picnics and
putting appeal to all ages. There
are golf and fishing challenges for beginner to enthusiast.
|
| You

climbing, orienteering and of course hillwalking. Details
of all activities, including cycle hire and outdoor activity
organisers, are available from local tourist information
centres. Whatever your chosen activity please think
about the safety of yourself and others around you and help
to protect the Trossachs environment. Please remember
