The Smith Art Gallery

The Smith Art Gallery and Museum was founded by Thomas Stuart Smith 1815-1869. It is situated further up from the Albert Halls on Dumbarton Road. It houses It's own shop, cafe, museum and changing gallery exhibitions.

"The purpose of the Smith is to be a centre for the arts and a museum to record, collect, preserve, conserve and interpret the material culture of the Stirling district for the cultural benefit of the people who live here, and for the added stimulation of visitors to the district, and also to contribute to the museums and galleries movement in Scotland"

The museum traces Stirling's local history and houses the oldest recorded curling stone in the world from 1511!

Open Tuesday to Saturday 10.30am until 5.00pm. Sundays 2pm until 5pm. Admission Free.
