BackStirling.co.uk E-mail Settings

25th August 2005 - SMTP Authentication Policy.

If you discover that you CANNOT SEND email via your broadband connection, you will need to change your email settings and upgrade your Stirling.co.uk email account.

As part of a world wide attempt to reduce the amount of spam e-mails sent, we can now provided a facility for Stirling.co.uk subscribers to upgrade their email account that will allow Authenticated SMTP settings to be input into your Email software.

Your new E-mail settings should be changed to the following:

1. Account Name is still your full Stirling.co.uk e-mail address.

2. Passwords will remain the same.

3. Your POP3 setting: mail.stirling.co.uk

4. Your SMTP setting: smtp.stirling.co.uk

5. Your Outgoing Server settings need the box ticked for "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".

In Outlook click Tools> E-mail Accounts> Change> More Settings> Outgoing Server. The tick box is located in this menu.

There is an annual charge of £30+VAT (£35.25) for this service.

Please email webadmin@stirling.co.uk to request an upgrade of your account. Accounts will only be upgraded upon payment of the annual fee.
