Stirling Castle is obviously the biggest tourist attraction that Stirling has to offer.

However, there are also lots of other historic attractions such as the National Wallace Monument and the Bannockburn Heritage Centre, currently undergoing a multi-million pound investment, that will encourage visitors to come to visit.

Stirling is a vibrant and cultural city, located in central Scotland, within 30 minutes drive from the major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. We have superb transport links making it the ideal base to explore the whole of Scotland.

But just as important, and I hope Stirling.co.uk reflects this, I believe it's the welcoming spirit of the Stirling people who live here and work in the local businesses; the people who provide the hospitality; the people who welcome all visitors in our accommodation and visitor attractions; the people who talk to tourists in the pubs and restaurants; and the people willing to help a lost visitor in a foreign land, is what gives Stirling its heart.

It's a spirit and heart that goes back centuries (wipes tear from eye) and the real reason why people keep coming back to visit us in Stirling. If you visit once, I know you'll come back one day, or someone you know will do the same.

Stirling is a proud University town, of which I'm a graduate, whose people are used to engaging with visitors from cultures from all over the world. We may not speak all the languages under the sun, but we will try our best to make sure your visit is one of the most memorable and enjoyable and friendly you will have during your trip to Scotland.
